The F2 Ultra UV uses a cold 355nm UV laser, so it can engrave glass, crystal and delicate materials without burn marks. It also does subsurface laser engraving, creating 3D images inside crystal and glass. It's the machine behind the 3D photo crystals in my shop.

Common questions

Can I see a 3D crystal made in the demo?

Yes. That's one of the most popular things to watch, and you can bring a photo to see how it turns out.

What is subsurface laser engraving?

Subsurface engraving (also called 3D crystal or inner engraving) focuses the laser inside the glass or crystal, creating thousands of tiny points that form a 3D image while the surface stays perfectly smooth.

What's the difference between the F2 and the F2 Ultra UV?

The F2 uses diode and infrared lasers for wood, leather and metal. The F2 Ultra UV uses a cold UV laser for glass, crystal and delicate materials, plus subsurface 3D engraving inside crystal.

Does UV laser engraving burn the material?

No. UV is a cold process, so it marks without the scorching you can get from heat-based lasers.
